How to use the free cut on purpose

1. Build the full countdown anyway. Preview Top 3, Top 5, or Top 10. The free ceiling applies when you export, not when you rehearse the order.
2. Put the three you would post at the top of the rail. A free download keeps the first three cards, not whichever three you wish were first.
3. Keep holds at four seconds or accept the cap. The dialog will not quietly shorten a longer preview. You confirm the free cut or you leave it.
4. Read the file before you post it. 720×1280, with a shortsrank.com mark. If that is not the public version, do not upload it by habit.

The editor opens in the browser. Clips are not uploaded either way.

“Free ranking video maker” should mean a tool you can finish a small countdown in, with the limits written down before you record. It should not mean a countdown that deletes itself, a watermark you discover after posting, or a checkout button that pretends to charge when the store is not connected. This page is those limits.

The editor itself is open. You can load a sample, add your own clips, reorder a Top 3, Top 5, or Top 10, and play the preview. Money is not what unlocks the preview.

What a free download contains

If you export without the lifetime flag, and you confirm the dialog, the file is:

• the first three cards in the rail, in that order,
• at most 4 seconds on each hold,
• a small shortsrank.com mark,
• 720×1280,
• the audio that was inside those clips.

You can preview holds longer than 4 seconds, and you can preview more than three cards. The export does not silently match the preview when you are over the cap. The dialog names the cut. Confirm it or back out. If the three cards at the top are not the three you meant to publish, reorder before you confirm. The rail is play order, not a favorites folder.

A Top 3 that you actually wanted to be three items therefore exports as a full count. It is still the free file: marked, capped, 720p. A Top 5 or Top 10 preview is a rehearsal. The free download of those is a three-card excerpt. That distinction is why the Top 3 page exists separately from the Top 5 and Top 10 pages.

What free does not include

It does not remove the mark. It does not write 1080×1920. It does not raise the hold past 4 seconds. It does not keep ten cards. It does not post to TikTok, Shorts, or Reels. It does not add music, a voiceover, or stock footage to fill a list you did not film.

It also does not upload your clips. Free and paid use the same browser path. Closing the tab drops the in-memory preview. Your source files stay on disk.

The local button is not the product

Until card checkout for ShortsRank is connected, the site cannot charge you. The button that sets a lifetime flag in this browser is there so a clean export can be tried. It is labeled as a local test. It is not a receipt, it is not transferable by typing an email into the restore page, and a payment on some other site does not set it.

When the store is connected, lifetime is $24 once for this editor: up to 10 clips, 8 seconds each, no watermark, 1080×1920. That sentence is the ceiling. The pricing page is where the two columns live. This page does not repeat them as a pitch.

Refund terms, once money can move, are on the Terms page: 7 days, email [email protected], if current Chrome or Edge cannot produce a playable vertical file and that cannot be fixed. The local flag is not a purchase, so it is not a refund case.

A sensible free workflow

1. Load a sample Top 5 and watch Slam, then Board, on your phone or in a narrow window.
2. Replace the samples with trimmed clips. Rights first, as on the from-clips guide.
3. If you are publishing the free file, build a Top 3 on purpose, or drag the three public cards to the top before export.
4. Play the download. The export checklist is resolution, mark, audio, and safe area.
5. If the mark or the missing ranks are the reason you would not post, stop. Do not crop the frame to hide the mark and call it the same video.

The how-to for the edit itself is how to make a ranking short. Free does not change those steps. It changes the file you are allowed to download at the end.

Questions

Does the free plan expire?

No. It is not a timed trial. The same caps apply the next time you export: 3 clips, 4 seconds each, watermark, 720×1280.

Can I crop the watermark off in another app?

The mark is burned into the free file. Cropping it off also crops the frame the layout was designed around. The clean export is the lifetime file, not a second edit of the free one.

Is the “unlock on this browser” button a purchase?

No. It is a local testing flag, labeled as such, for trying a clean export before card checkout exists. It is not a receipt and it does not survive as a purchase on another machine.

Why can’t I pay on the checkout page yet?

Card checkout opens only after this site’s own Waffo store is connected. Until then the checkout page says it cannot charge you. Do not send money somewhere else and expect this editor to unlock.
