TikTok is where countdown videos get their habits: a number, a cut, a number, a cut, and a caption that repeats the promise. A Top 10 TikTok countdown made in ShortsRank is still your clips in that shape. The app does not change the edit. It changes what part of the frame people can see, and it changes how long they will wait.

Safe area, specifically

TikTok covers more of the frame than a plain video player.

The top has the following feed and the status area. A rank glued to the top edge disappears.
The right side is a column of buttons. A title that runs under that column loses its last words.
The bottom is the username, the caption, and the audio credit. A lower third that sits on the bottom fifth is a lower third nobody reads.

Slam keeps the large number in the upper third, left of center, and the title plate above the bottom fifth. Board puts the number even higher and the title under the framed clip, still clear of the caption. Watch the preview and imagine a column of icons on the right. If your title is long, it already ellipsizes at two lines. Shorten it anyway so the remaining words are not the unimportant ones.

Do not add a second caption inside the video that repeats the post caption. One title per rank is the whole typography system.

Ten items at TikTok length

People will give a countdown a little patience and then they will not. For ten ranks, use 2 or 3 second holds. The sample Top 10 is built at 3 seconds and lands a bit over half a minute with cards and stings. That is a reasonable TikTok length for this format. Four seconds times ten is a different, slower video. Eight seconds times ten is not a TikTok countdown. It is a compilation you should not pretend is a short.

If you cannot see the point of a clip in two seconds, it is the wrong clip for slot #8. The early ranks teach the pattern. They should be obvious. Save anything that needs a double take for #3, #2, and #1.

The series title on the intro card should match the first line of your TikTok caption. If the video says “Top 10 desk setups” and the caption says “rating my friends,” you have two videos. Pick one promise.

Sound on TikTok versus sound in the file

You have two legal, practical choices.

Export with the audio that is inside your clips — voice, room, game, whistle — and upload that. In TikTok, you can leave the original sound on.
Export silent, or with only incidental audio you are sure about, and add a sound from TikTok’s library at upload time.

Do not do a third thing: bake a trending song into the MP4 from a file you downloaded somewhere. The editor will faithfully keep it, and the post will faithfully get claimed. ShortsRank does not ship a music library and does not pretend to.

Sample scenes in the editor are silent on purpose so you can judge the picture. Your real clips bring their own audio in during their hold.

What not to rank

A Top 10 of other people’s TikToks, screen-recorded and numbered, is not this recipe. You do not have those pictures. A Top 10 of products you filmed yourself — the unbox, the shelf, the pan — is this recipe. A Top 10 of takes from your own shoots is this recipe. The from-clips guide is the rights test. Apply it ten times. One bad file ruins the export.

Also skip “most viewed” as a concept. You are not scraping a leaderboard. You are ordering clips. If the caption says “most viewed,” and you do not have the data or the rights, the caption is a lie. Say “my top 10” if that is what you mean.

Finish in the app, not in the editor

Download the MP4. Upload it in TikTok. Write a caption that lists the ten titles if you want people to argue in comments — that list is optional and it does spoil #1, so decide whether the argument is worth the spoiler. Choose a cover frame that shows a rank number large enough to read on a profile grid. Post it yourself.

ShortsRank will not connect to your TikTok account. That is out of scope on purpose. The file is the handoff. If you need stickers, a duet layout, or auto captions from speech, do that pass in TikTok or in a full editor after the countdown exists.
