Privacy policy

ShortsRank is a website and a browser editor operated by an individual based in China. The editor arranges clips you already have into a vertical countdown and lets you download the file. This policy says what the site does with information, and what Waffo processes when you pay.

Clips and titles

Video files you add in the editor are read by your browser so the preview and the export can draw frames. They are not uploaded to a ShortsRank server, because the site does not offer a media upload endpoint for that job. Closing the tab drops the in-memory files. Object URLs created for playback are revoked when you remove a clip or load a sample.

Titles you type and the series name live in the page while it is open. They are burned into the video you export. They are not sent to us as a project file.

Sample countdowns are drawn in the page. They are not your footage and they are not fetched as video files.

Local storage and cookies

The lifetime unlock is not stored in your browser. Whether a browser has Lifetime is decided on our server from a payment that was verified with the payment provider. To recognise your browser after you pay, ShortsRank sets one first-party cookie, sr_vid: a random identifier, HttpOnly, with no personal data in it. Our server keeps a small record that links that identifier (and the email Waffo reports for your order, if any) to a verified purchase. An older build used a localStorage key shortsrank.plan; it grants nothing now and the site deletes it when it finds it.

Analytics

If PUBLIC_GA_MEASUREMENT_ID is set to a GA4 id, the site loads Google Analytics and calls gtag with IP anonymization enabled. If the variable is empty, the snippet is not rendered and no analytics request is made by this site. Analytics, when on, is for page measurement. Do not put clip titles you consider private into the URL if you can avoid it. The editor accepts a title query so a guide can open a labeled sample; that title can appear in the address bar and, if analytics is on, in a page URL.

Payments and what we store

Paid checkout is handled by Waffo as the payment processor and merchant of record. When you pay, Waffo processes payment data: card or wallet details, billing details, the email entered on the payment page, the amount, tax, fraud signals, and order identifiers. That processing is covered by Waffo’s own privacy policy and buyer terms. ShortsRank does not receive or store your card number.

What ShortsRank stores:

• Your video files, titles, and audio are processed in the browser and are not stored on our servers.
• If you start checkout or restore: the sr_vid cookie and, after a verified payment, a server-side record of the order id and the checkout email, so the unlock can be restored. Nothing is stored for visitors who never start checkout.
• Messages you send to hello@shortsrank.com, including your address and any attachment you add.
• Page measurements, only if Google Analytics is configured as described below.

ShortsRank does not keep a payment database or card data. Waffo sends our server a signed webhook when an order completes or is refunded, and we keep only the small unlock record described above. The restore form sends the email you type to our server, which checks it against that record and against Waffo’s paid orders for this store; the success page does not treat a visit as a purchase.

Email you send us

If you write to hello@shortsrank.com, we receive whatever you put in the message, including your address and any attachment you choose to add. Use that channel for support, refunds, and privacy requests. The contact form only opens your mail app. It does not post the message to our server.

Mail forwarding, once DNS is set, delivers that inbox to the operator’s mail destination. The forward is a mail routing choice, not a second product account.

Cookies and similar storage

Google Analytics, if enabled, may set its own cookies. Search-console verification meta tags do not store anything on your machine.

What we do not do

• No advertising network and no AdSense in this version.
• No sale of personal information.
• No account system and no password database.
• No view-count tracking of your published shorts.

Children

ShortsRank is a general creator tool. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child sent us personal information, email hello@shortsrank.com and we will delete the mail we can still find.

Changes

If the editor starts uploading media, or analytics becomes mandatory, this page will change before that behavior ships. The date at the top is the version you are reading.
